Painting and priming, indoor and out

I have over 10 years of professional painting experience.  I have worked on both residential and commercial projects, and have equal experience with interior and exterior work.

I understand the effort it takes to prepare a surface for painting.  And I know what it takes to protect everything else.  As Abraham Lincoln once said, "If someone gave me 6 hour to chop down a tree, I'd spend 5 hours sharping the axe." Preparation is everything when it comes to painting.

I was able to save the existing siding on this house by cleaning, patching,sealing and staining it.  The owner saved thousands of dollars and has an exterior that, with minimal proper maintenance, will last two or three more decades.

Some interior before and after shots.  The house had years of water damage in the walls and window trim.  I cut out and removed the bad spots, re-caulked everything, sanded the walls, sprayed the entire house with an  oil based sealer, and then finally began painting the house.

You pay for my painting skills.  I can use the paint you like, or supply paint for you.  I don't want to sell you anything but my skills.

To really save you money on a do it yourself project, I can prepare the walls and do all the trim and cutting in the edges.  Then leave rolling on the main wall area to you.  I'll do as much or as little as you want.

Drywall preparation

I do drywall preparation everyday.  I never paint a wall without ensuring it is caulked, all blemishes/dings/holes are removed, its flat, and ready for paint.  I can mud and skim a wall in just a few minutes.  because I prepare and isolate the area to be painted, I can sand without disturbing the rest of the house.  I prime or seal at the owner's discretion.  Because I take a lot of care in preparation, less paint is typically needed.

Drywall or installation

In many projects, it is necessary to replace drywall.  I charge a fixed price per sheet to measure, cut , hang, and prep the sheet for painting. I have no hesitation to replace a bad sheet of drywall, and I am very fast. This can save a lot of time and money trying to restore old and damaged, or poorly installed old drywall.

Flooring

When you walk through the flooring department of a home project store you see some incredibly durable, gorgeous and fun flooring ideas.  You may think that it would be nice to redo your floor at home, but you are afraid to take the plunge.  Most people aren't sure of the magnitude or work to put down flooring.  they are afraid to call a flooring company as the flooring company will want to sell you the materials too, at at a lot more than the home projects stores do. 

I don't want to sell you anything but my time. I will install the flooring you choose, work hard to reuse trim wood if you want me to, and keep your costs as low as possible.

Using me, you wont have to worry about dust and debris.  As a painter and drywall expert I know how to block off rooms with plastic and keep dust to a minimum. I could re-floor a small kitchen with baked finish hardwood you purchased in one day.

I removed the old trim and old flooring, check for level, patched a few bad spots and vacuumed to ensure nothing would be under the new sub floor.

Cabinet coatings

Some older cabinets are very well built.  If they have not suffered from water damage or impacts, they my be nice and strong, but look warn and out of date.

I can clean, straighten, seal and paint 20 cabinets for the cost of buying two new ones.  I can remove old counter tops and prepare and re-level the cabinets for granite or other new counter tops.

There are a variety of cabinet paints and coatings available today.  I have experience in single part, two part, oil and epoxy coating options.
